How to fix "dead" Instagram Page

Hey G,

I know how it feels to build an audience, then suddenly face low engagement and reach.

This can happen for various reasons, but inactivity is often the biggest one.

You might have already experienced this—seeing your reach decline significantly with each post.

I’ve been there too, and after several setbacks, I developed a system to help you overcome this hurdle and regain your momentum.

If you’re just starting out on your creator journey, this will be invaluable, giving you a clear strategy to follow in case this happens.

And if you’re already facing this issue, here’s exactly how to break free from this slump.

..

1) No, You Don’t Need to Start a New Account

This is a common question I get asked

Starting fresh on a new account doesn’t magically fix this problem.

You’ll need to rebuild trust with the algorithm, and starting from scratch doesn’t guarantee instant views.

The real issue often stems from your content not being strong enough to engage your audience.

Simply creating a new account won’t solve the problem if you continue posting the same low-performing content.

So, don’t think about starting a new account.

..

2) Go Back to the Drawing Board

First, review your previous content.

Pick out the top 5-10 posts that performed best and save them in your notes.

Then, head to Instagram’s Reels tab and observe what type of content the algorithm is pushing.

Pay attention to the videos that resonate with viewers and are getting traction.

Select 5-10 of these trending videos that you feel inspired to create something similar.

..

3) Create a Banger Reel

Now, it’s crucial that you spend time on this step.

A strong reel will either make or break your comeback.

I want you to create a piece of content that feels almost illegal to watch—so valuable and engaging—by using elements from the examples you’ve saved in step 2.

For example:

  • “How I Lost 20 Pounds Walking 30 Minutes a Day”

  • “How I Cook Meals for 5 People on $100 a Week”

  • “Creating a Professional Filming Studio for Under $100”

This content must have that “wow” factor.

Nail down your hook—the first few seconds—and ensure your reel provides massive value.

Use proven viral content formats that you saved to maximize your chances of success.

..

4) Post and Push Traffic to Your Reel

Before posting, make sure you don’t have active stories on your account.

This will help ensure you get the maximum number of views on your story.

Once you post, share it to your story.

If you have a broadcast channel, share it there too.

Encourage your friends to repost it on their stories.

Send out an email to your list (if you have one), including a link to your reel.

Share it across every platform possible to drive external traffic—making the Instagram algorithm take notice.

When you do this correctly, the algorithm will think: “What’s going on here?”

This will trigger the algorithm and breathe new life into your page.

And you only need to do this once with a high-performing post.

Get it right, and your engagement will pick up again.

..

5) Avoid Returning to Mediocre Content

Once your reel starts getting traction, don’t fall into the trap of posting “average” content again.

Focus on quality over quantity.

If you can’t consistently create 1 great piece of content per day, aim for 3-4 high-value posts per week.

The algorithm rewards consistency, but most importantly, it rewards quality.
